"Planted" I was reading both Jeremiah 17 and Isiah 61 when this painting came to mind. Being crowned with beauty and being planted in God stuck with me.
"Natural" was created for my Paint & Chill parties. I know people liked my other natural pieces so I wanted to create something that was similar and that others could do as well.
This piece was created, well started, on Christmas. I sat and wanted to give back to Christ, instead of receiving anything from anyone or even Him. I wanted Him to specifically create what He wanted on "His day".
I created this piece for my mom this year. Her birthday and mother's day are always 2 days apart so why not create a piece that represents both, in a way.
"Empty Silence"
At times I process in parts unknowingly. And yesterday I was reminded of a loss I buried and never truly processed because it reminded me too much of my first one. So I balled! And asked God to help me process in a healthy way and fully! I continued to ball and He sent me to my art.

"Life" was created as the opposite of "Empty Silence". It was apart of my healing process. Women have the ability to produce and abort life and visions planted within them.
"Break Free" was created from a free hand sketch I made. I believe a lot of walk around just like this; broken, wounded and with cracks, waiting to be freed. But are you willing to heal so your freedom will come?

"Melanin Love" was created out of the lack of love I see and the love I desire! Black love is vital in our community and I wanted to express my desire for it and expression of it! The first painting in my Melanin Series.
A fusion of passions; love and music.
"Poppin" was created randomly but it exudes black girl magic. It reminds me of summer time; her curls are poppin' just like her lip gloss and lollipop!

"His Peace" is a part of my Melanin Series, its 2/3. This piece was created with the thought of "with everything he goes through in the world, when he comes home be his peace"... I've discovered that wherever his peace is, he will be also.
"Give and Take" is 3/3 of my Melanin Series. This piece was created with the feeling of give and take. Any relationship calls for some give and take. But we must be cautious as to whose hands we are giving our hearts to.

"Koffee" was inspired by Kelly Rowland's album cover art. It exuded beauty of the melanin skin and I wanted to put my spin on it. The colors of brown, gold, and sky blue paired so well together.
